This still life is a playful representation of preservation and the study of a wet specimen. Rather than capturing a scientifically appropriate specimen such as a rare snake skin or a two-headed pig fetus, a plush Mickey Mouse has been treated through the same process. Because Mickey Mouse is a culturally charged character for most viewers with ties to their childhood, this becomes a reflection and study on the viewer's memories.
